Wheat carried the grain trade higher again Friday as concern about possible Black Sea export disruptions kept risk premium in the market. Soybeans gained 20 cents with support from stronger soybean meal and oil, along with a new USDA-reported sale of 182,000 metric tons to China. Corn followed the broader grain strength but finished with a smaller 3-cent gain.
Cattle futures gave back part of Thursday’s rally. Live cattle fell $1.20 and September feeders lost $1.55 as the feeder cattle index and Choice boxed beef values moved lower. October lean hogs rallied late to finish $1.275 higher after pork cutout values improved in the morning report.
