UFARM Takes Peoples Company Name

LINCOLN, Neb. — United Farm and Ranch Management is now operating as Peoples Company, bringing the nearly century-old business under the name of the Iowa-based firm that acquired it in January 2025.

The name change took effect Oct. 2. The former UFARM team will continue serving landowners in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and South Dakota.

Based in Lincoln with offices in Kearney and Norfolk, UFARM brought 15 employees and more than 90,000 acres under management into Peoples Company at the time of the acquisition. Its services include farmland, ranch and recreational property management, along with real estate sales and appraisals.

Chris Scow, Peoples Company managing broker and former UFARM managing broker and operations manager, said the transition maintains continuity for clients and employees while giving the regional team access to additional company resources.

Senior land manager Mike Waller said Peoples Company’s marketing tools and broader reach have expanded the team’s ability to serve landowners.

The rebranding follows several acquisitions that have increased Peoples Company’s presence in Nebraska and the Great Plains. Those include farm management accounts from Midwest Land Company in Wayne in 2025, Lallman, Paulson & Brettmann in Fremont in 2024 and Mid-Continent Properties in Omaha in 2020.

Peoples Company President Steve Bruere said the former UFARM team will carry forward its work helping landowners improve productivity and land value.

Peoples Company provides land brokerage, agricultural appraisal, land and energy management, crop insurance and capital markets services through offices across the country.
