Corn and soybeans ended the week lower, wheat finished mixed, cattle futures pulled back sharply, and lean hogs found a late-week bounce.
- December corn settled at $4.97 3/4, down 4 1/2 cents.
- November soybeans settled at $12.78 1/4, down 5 3/4 cents.
- December Chicago wheat settled at $6.83, up 1/2 cent.
- December Kansas City hard red winter wheat settled at $7.35 1/4, down 2 1/4 cents.
- October live cattle settled at $218.850, down $0.450.
- October feeder cattle settled at $334.625, down $4.250.
- October lean hogs settled at $77.875, up $0.375.
Drier harvest weather and fund long liquidation weighed on corn and soybeans. Chicago wheat held near steady while Kansas City wheat slipped as export sales remained behind last year. Cattle gave back weekly gains, with feeders leading the decline, while lean hogs bounced as the cash hog market firmed.
Prices are final Barchart settlements for the October 2 session.
