Wheat Leads Grain Slide as Cattle and Hogs Retreat Wednesday

Closing Markets for Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026

  • December corn settled at $5.27 3/4, down 5 3/4 cents.
  • November soybeans settled at $13.09 1/2, down 6 3/4 cents.
  • December Chicago wheat settled at $7.28 3/4, down 18 1/4 cents.
  • December Kansas City HRW wheat settled at $8.06 1/4, down 12 3/4 cents.
  • October live cattle settled at $215.850, down $1.175.
  • October feeder cattle settled at $325.825, up 37.5 cents.
  • October lean hogs settled at $83.075, down $1.175.

Wheat led the grain markets lower as larger Canadian stocks weighed on the complex. Soybeans faded amid limited fresh export business, while corn slipped despite a reported sale to Mexico.

In livestock, live cattle and lean hogs gave back part of Tuesday’s rally. Feeder cattle bucked the weaker tone and finished modestly higher.
