LURAY, Mo. — Cattle producers planning to attend Saturday’s Show-Me-Select field day at Trump BK Angus should change their plans. Organizers have canceled the Nov. 7 event.
The Show Me Select Bred Heifers Facebook page announced the cancellation in an update, saying circumstances would prevent the program from moving forward as planned.
Organizers say they intend to plan a field day in 2027. The announcement does not give a new date or a more specific reason for canceling Saturday’s program.
The event had been scheduled at Trump BK Angus, 12098 U.S. Highway 136 in Luray, with registration at 9:30 a.m. and presentations from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The planned program focused on selecting and developing replacement heifers. Topics included nutrition, reproductive management, fertility prediction, synchronization and genomic testing.
Speakers listed on the event flyer included Eric Bailey, Zac Erwin, Thiago Martins, Cecilia C. Rocha and Jamie Courter. Lunch had been planned at noon, and there was no charge to attend.
For questions about the cancellation or future programming, producers can contact the MU Extension Center in Adair County at 660-665-9866 or adairco@missouri.edu. Martins can be reached at 573-673-8118 or thiago.martins@missouri.edu.
The cancellation applies to the Luray field day scheduled for Nov. 7.
