Wheat and Soybeans Sink Into Weekend

• December corn settled at $5.27 1/2, down 3 cents.
• November soybeans settled at $13.03 1/2, down 16 1/4 cents.
• December Chicago wheat settled at $7.14 1/4, down 12 3/4 cents.
• December Kansas City hard red winter wheat settled at $7.83 3/4, down 10 3/4 cents.
• October live cattle settled at $215.925, up 27 1/2 cents.
• October feeder cattle settled at $323.500, down 87 1/2 cents.
• October lean hogs settled at $78.100, down 80 cents.

Grains closed lower across the board. Soybeans followed a sharp drop in soybean meal, wheat faced profit-taking and a slower export-sales pace, and corn absorbed spillover pressure from beans, wheat and crude oil.

Livestock finished mixed ahead of USDA’s Cattle on Feed report. October live cattle edged higher, feeders slipped and lean hogs fell as cash hog prices and the pork cutout weakened.
