Opening Markets: Soybeans and Wheat Push Higher

Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026

Grain futures are mixed in overnight trade as September begins, with soybeans and wheat moving higher while corn is nearly steady.

Corn: December corn is trading at $5.37 1/2, down 1/2 cent in overnight trade. Corn is holding near Monday’s close after crop condition ratings slipped to end August.

Soybeans: November soybeans are at $12.98 1/2, up 10 1/2 cents. Beans are extending Monday’s strength after USDA reported lower crop condition ratings, while export demand and renewable-fuel policy remain in focus.

Chicago Wheat: December Chicago wheat is trading at $7.80 1/2, up 6 1/2 cents, rebounding after Monday’s pullback.

Kansas City HRW Wheat: December Kansas City hard red winter wheat is at $8.41 3/4, up 3 3/4 cents in overnight trade.

Livestock: CME livestock futures have not opened for Tuesday’s session. The latest available figures are Monday’s settlements: October live cattle at $212.675, October feeder cattle at $317.025 and October lean hogs at $83.675. Those are prior settlements, not current Tuesday trades.

Grain traders are watching crop conditions, export demand and the first trading day of September after a strong August run in several agricultural markets.
