Cattle Surge While Wheat Slips Monday

Closing Markets for Monday, Sept. 14, 2026

  • December corn settled at $5.33 1/4, up 3 cents.
  • November soybeans settled at $13.04 1/4, up 7 3/4 cents.
  • December Chicago wheat settled at $7.22, down 3 1/4 cents.
  • December Kansas City hard red winter wheat settled at $7.92 1/2, down 6 cents.
  • October live cattle settled at $222.250, up $2.575.
  • October feeder cattle settled at $337.850, up $5.350.
  • October lean hogs settled at $79.600, down $1.925.

Corn and soybeans finished higher as traders continued to sort through USDA’s latest supply-and-demand estimates. Wheat moved the other way, with Chicago and Kansas City contracts ending lower.

Cattle futures were the day’s clear livestock strength. Technical buying and last week’s firmer cash trade helped lift live and feeder cattle, while weaker cash and product-market signals kept pressure on lean hogs.
