We are the Midwest’s home for Red Dirt, Texas Country and independent country music, backed by the agriculture coverage that matters to farmers, ranchers and rural communities.
Turn on The Ranch and you will hear music you will not find everywhere else. You will also get ag news, commodity markets, weather and rural news without the corporate filler.
Because around here, agriculture isn’t a side feature.

Radio With Rural Roots
The Ranch was founded by veteran broadcaster Jason Mathis, whose career in radio and agriculture began over 30 years ago.
Jason has worked as a farm broadcaster, on air personality, news director and station manager, with stops in Florida, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Those years weren’t spent covering agriculture from a distance.
They were spent talking with farmers and ranchers, following the markets, covering the issues affecting rural communities and telling the stories of the people who make their living from the land.
That experience is the foundation of The Ranch today.
Music With Some Dirt On Its Boots
We believe country music is bigger than whatever happens to be coming out of Nashville this week.
The Ranch puts the spotlight on Red Dirt, Texas Country and independent artists who are still writing songs about real life.
You’ll hear established names alongside artists fighting for their next fan, their next spin and their next packed dance hall.
We believe good music deserves to be heard.
Agriculture Is Always Part of the Conversation
Markets move. Weather changes. Policies coming out of Washington can hit a farm or ranch hundreds of miles away.
We cover it.
The Ranch delivers agriculture news, opening and closing commodity markets, weather information and stories from cattle country, farm country and small towns across the Midwest and Plains.
We don’t need to turn every story into a five minute lecture.
Tell producers what happened. Tell them why it matters. Let them get back to work.
